TAKING THE CAKE is the first book from Kate Davies and this story is H-O-T, HOT! Ms. Davies takes “the woman scorned” to a whole new level. I was extremely pleased to find that Ms. Davies placed a new twist on an old plot. Instead of a sniveling heroine we get Mollie who is determined to prove her fiancé (and his friends) wrong....This story whisks you away from page one and safely deposits you back at home with an uplifted heart and the definite need for a cold shower. The sex between Mollie and Cade was erotic, hot, sizzling, and oh so yummy....The feelings that have remained over the years between Mollie and Cade is touching and gives hope to all of the would-be high school sweethearts of the world. I eagerly await any future releases from Kate Davies as she has easily earned a place on my auto-buy list.

Witty and fun, TAKING THE CAKE is a riotous and scorching
love story from the pen of Kate Davies. Poor Mollie is really putting
herself through the wringer in order to spice up her relationship with
Blaine, and when she hears what he has to say, she is both upset and
relieved. Mollie is laugh-out-loud funny, especially in the first few pages
while she's stuck in the sweltering cake, and her insight into herself and
her relationship with Blaine comes full circle in there. As for Cade...well,
we should all have men like that once in our lives. Even better if said man
turns out to be the love of your life. He is at once protective, yet
ferocious in his hunger for Mollie, and his pent up desire for her is about
to get a workout.
A great way to while away a hot summer day, TAKING THE CAKE by Kate Davies
is a must read!
